Interactive Service Workshop in Chakan

The 4th Service Workshop, held in Chakan, from November 24-26, 2016, was memorable indeed. It began with Daniel D’Souza addressing the team and outlining his thoughts and plans for 2017. Thereafter, Zarine Mathias from the Training and Development team conducted a session titled 'Roti, Kapada & Makkan', which helped to promote bonding among the team members and to highlight their skills. The following day witnessed system training on FRAME 2.0 – the service module. There was also an interactive session with the Accounts & Finance team members, who shared insights on this new development. Finally, the Service Leads held a discussion which showcased their thoughts for the down line staff and traced the path towards growth and progress. Each of these sessions was interactive and thought-provoking, with team members eagerly contributing their thoughts towards ensuring that 2017 makes a difference to each and every passenger who travels with SOTC!

A Wonderful Team Get-together

Every year SOTC’s FIT PMT organizes a team get-together for everyone to interact and have fun after working very hard during season time. This year a gala evening was organized on September 23, 2016 – complete with a great DJ, team-building games, and lots of dancing and delicious food. It was a much awaited break for FIT PMT, before the actual super peak season madness started and everything was well arranged - right from the welcome drink and starters to the dessert. This team-building event helps everyone to focus on working as one team for the remaining three months of the year and all had a wonderful time. Our Thanks to Team HR and Team Finance, as well as to Indranil, Jenny and Amit for making it such a success, and to Ashmi Dharia and Amod Thatte for their support, as always.

A Great Time at Southern Off-site

There's a well-known saying that goes “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”. This is exactly what happens at an SOTC off-site!

On December 3, 2016, the 'South Mice' – a team of 15 employees from across Southern India – went on a fun-filled off-site. The day began at 6 am, when they met for breakfast, after which they went to the popular Elim Resort in Kanakpura, around 45 km. from Bangalore.

With Pranav Phayde being Tour Manager and Lester Selvy being Event Manager, the outing turned out to be a great experience indeed. It witnessed a variety of indoor and outdoor activities like Sack Search, Balloon Dance and Zorbing. Amazing after-lunch activities included Paint Ball, a rain dance and foot spa at the pool.

When you are with the right people, the night is always young, so the action continued unabated with everyone in high spirits in the cool weather. There was a game of snooker, followed by a camp fire, a DJ on the dance floor and Karaoke going on till midnight on the lush lawns. Bharanidharan danced for us and entertained us till the wee hours.

The next day began with a breakfast of quail egg omelets. This was followed by prize distribution ceremony for all the winners in the various indoor and outdoor games.

Everyone left with with faces clearly displaying happiness. There were grateful indeed for this great outing which promoted a feeling of being one big family, and were all happy with the airline goodies arranged by Mr. Baiju.

Picnic Fun for Finance Team

After a tiring year of audits, closings and plenty of hard work for SOTC's Finance Department team, it was time for us to have fun and party together. Thus we set off on our annual picnic on August 20-21, 2016, to Regency Resort near Gorai Beach, Mumbai. The resort was located close to Gorai Creek with luxurious rooms and a great swimming pool. So the team indeed had a gala time - taking a dip in the pool, enjoying varied rides in the pool and partaking heartily of a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The afternoon witnessed team members display their outdoor skills in games of cricket and volleyball – which were replete with fun, laughter and enjoyment.

In the evening with had a party which went on till the wee hours - with pulsating music, drinks and our own DJ.

The team members left the resort the next morning with plenty of wonderful memories to cherish...
